can anybody help me with error launching installer problem in windows 7?
Q. I have downloaded 3 different programs from the internet and when i want to install them on my computer ( with windows 7) an error says : error launching installer and the program finishes.i cant even open these programs because of this error. does anybody know what the problem is? and how can i solve it?

A. If you are using 64 bit OS then those programs may only be 32 bit applications and they won't work on your system.

If those programs need certain drivers and system files that are not included with the applications like C++ runtime files then you need the C++ redistrubutable package to be installed prior to installing your programs.

Perhaps if you mention (add details) which application you are trying to install and where you are downloading from then other more experienced people may be more helpful.

A. There could be a couple of reasons:

Double check the model, if you want to make sure download from http://www.fixmydriver.com and run the scan. It will identify the graphics card model.

How do I get rid of the error popups on my new laptop?

Q. I just downloaded Windows 7, but error pop ups keep coming. It's really annoying and I want to know how to stop it.

A. is it the one where the screen goes dark and it beeps and says 'do you wish to really do that? are you sure? you may just break the computer, but probably not im just here to scare and annoy you'
if its that, do it in security settings, user account control. then it prompts you to turn it back on at every startup.
if this wasnt what you were on about then erm..
however if its an actual error, maybe theres something wrong with it? google the actual error with quotes

How do I get my HP Laptop to reboot Windows 7?

Q. My laptop came with Windows 7 already installed. I keep getting an error while trying to boot which says, "Bootmngr:Device not found". I've read that you need to reinstall Windows when this happens but I do not have the CD, What do I do to get my laptop up and running again?

A. First do you have the Activation code for your version of Windows 7? It should be on a sticker, on the bottom of the laptop.

Go here:
http://techpp.com/2009/11/11/download-windows-7-iso-official-direct-download-links/
and download the correct 32 or 64 bit version of Windows 7 (Home, Business, Pro, or Ultimate) and burn that ISO to a DVD-R and then do a reinstall.

You should back up all the stuff you want to keep just in case you lose it (to several DVD-Rs, they are cheap and will not crash like a external HD). And then reinstall Windows over the old location. As you do the install you might get an option to "Repair" the installation, if that comes up go with it instead of the install.

And after all this you will have a Disc of your copy of Windows 7. Make sure to WRITE ON THE DISC YOUR ACTIVATION CODE (with a sharpie), so you have it and put it in a dvd case not a cd case (they are made differently and that is why they are stored in different cases.

After saying all this and you can not find your activation code then go here and buy a new one Cheap:

How do I install Windows 7 after having Mindriva Linux installed?
Q. I originally had Windows 7, then due to a registry error, it messed up and wouldn't boot again. I used the Mandriva Linux install disc to format the hard drive but now when I boot the computer with the Windows 7 install disc, it does not acknowledge the disc (even though it is set to read the disc from the BIOS). It simply continues straight to the Linux OS. It is not a disc issue either as I have back-ups.
Thanks in advance.

A. On some computers you get a message when you try to boot from a cd to "Press any key to boot from cd". Watch for that message and press a key to boot from the win 7 cd.
Good luck

How to change windows 7 error sound?
Q. So basically I want to know how to change the error sound you get on windows 7 for example when you're on firefox and press find (ctrl + F) and type in something that isn't on the page, it turns red and gives off this horrible sound. This same sound appear when you adjust the volume via the task bar.

Anyone know how to change it because it gets really annoying expecially when I have my headphones in.

Thanks

A. In Windows 7, go to your control panel (from start menu), then click on sound. Once there, click on the 'Sounds' tab. From there you can personalize any of the sounds on your computer...what you're probably hearing is the 'critical stop' sound-it's grating and annoying. Just click on sound you want to change in the list, choose a new sound from the drop-down menu at the bottom, then hit 'apply.' That should take care of it!

A. Boot from any Linux distro from a CD. It doesn't have to be installed. Just run it off the CD to access your hard drive. You will be able to move your data to a different storage.

If you are not so familiar with Linux then run the Mini Windows XP on this bootable CD so you can use Windows Explorer to get to your data:

Having problems with your Windows 7? Email me your edition and version. I expect you to have your product key on hand which you will need to reactivate the OS after wiping out the hard drive and reinstalling Windows 7 and all your applications.

Update: No it is not true that Linux will change your files. I'm 100% sure about that. You are only going to access them to copy them to a different location, not edit them, right?

Can the sims 2 be compatible with windows 7?
Q. installed the sims 2 on windows 7, but got an error message that says the game is not compatible with windows 7. Have also installed the dvd patch to sims 2.

Is it possible to make the sims 2 cmpatible with windows 7?

A. Hello Altairz,

Sims 2 should be compatible with Windows 7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?type=Software&s=Sims%203&page=1. I recommend running a troubleshooter to root out any problems and try to install fresh (no patch): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/help/videos/using-troubleshooters.

Q. I can't boot up windows 7 due to an BSOD stop error, or several for that matter. So I want to back up my stuff before I attempt anything. How do I transfer my files from my windows 7 partition to an external HDD?
This is for a laptop, sony vaio. So removing my drive would be a bit of a hassle.

A. Boot from any Linux distro from a CD. It doesn't have to be installed. Just run it off the CD to access your hard drive. You will be able to move your data to a different storage.

If you are not so familiar with Linux then run the Mini Windows XP on this bootable CD so you can use Windows Explorer to get to your data:
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

Having problems with your Windows 7? Email me your edition and version. I expect you to have your product key on hand which you will need to reactivate the OS after wiping out the hard drive and reinstalling Windows 7 and all your applications.

Update: No it is not true that Linux will change your files. I'm 100% sure about that. You are only going to access them to copy them to a different location, not edit them, right?

After saying all this and you can not find your activation code then go here and buy a new one Cheap:

can anybody help me with error launching installer problem in windows 7?

Windows 7 error appear when I try to start it?

Q. I just installed x64 Windows 7 Ultimate. Whenever I try to start windows blue error screen appear. I can only start it safe mode.
I got 3.60GHz P4, 2gb ram.
Please help.

A. The easiest and fastest way to solve this problem is to run a registry cleaner software. A registry cleaner can eliminate errors in your record. This record stores all information about the software, drivers, applications and games that are installed on your computer. And in time, it can get bad, because some obsolete entries are not deleted and can lead to what they call the "errors". By using a registry cleaner http://make-a-computer-run-better.com the errors can be eradicated and increases the speed of your computer in the process. Registry cleaners work by scanning each file and then checking to see if it's corrupt or causing problems. If they find that it is broken, the registry cleaner will replace or fix the file for you to make your computer become free of errors. In addition, the errors will not happen if you regularly check and care for your computer system.

How can I fix Windows 7 blue screen error?

Q. Hi. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Usually, a while after my computer is booted up, I see a blue screen error. It says that a problem has occurred and Windows has shut down to prevent further damage. Unfortunately, that's all I can read before the computer restarts itself. What do I do about this error? PLEASE HELP
ALso, will starting the computer in safe mode help anything?

A. Tap F8 as the computer boots up.
Start in Safe Mode.
Once it starts (takes a while) go to Control Panel, System. Then Advanced system settings. Then Startup and Recovery - Settings. Then uncheck the Auotmatic Restart in System Failure.

Restart computer.
Now it will stop on the Blue Screen. Write down the full error code and Google for it. Blue Screen errors are often drivers but can be RAM errors or hard drive faults.

When i install My Intel Graphic Drivers in windows 7 than installation gave an error that is?

This computer does not meet the minimum requirments for installing the software Setup will exit.
Plz help me i m very worried about this how can i install my Display Driver.

A. There could be a couple of reasons:

- Insufficient main PC memeory (RAM)
- The drivers are not signed for Windows 7
- They're the wrong drivers for your card model

Double check the model, if you want to make sure download from http://www.fixmydriver.com and run the scan. It will identify the graphics card model.

How do I transfer files from my Windows 7 partition to an external HD via Ubuntu?

Having problems with your Windows 7? Email me your edition and version. I expect you to have your product key on hand which you will need to reactivate the OS after wiping out the hard drive and reinstalling Windows 7 and all your applications.

Update: No it is not true that Linux will change your files. I'm 100% sure about that. You are only going to access them to copy them to a different location, not edit them, right?

After saying all this and you can not find your activation code then go here and buy a new one Cheap:
http://www.cheapsoftwaresonline.com/windows_7
64 bit is for 3 GB of RAM or more AND a 64 bit processor (if you don't have BOTH, don't get the 64 bit version).

Good luck
